April 4 – 6, 2012, Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) and Haskell Indian Nations University hosted a gathering of Indigenous leaders and allies from the North and South to learn, dialogue, and examine together the Rights of Mother Earth/Rights of Nature campaign that is introducing a new paradigm of jurisprudence and social thinking that treats Nature/Mother Earth as a fundamental rights bearing entity, and not mere property to be exploited.
