September 2018 will mark the 10th anniversary of Ecuador’s bold step to adopt Rights of Nature into its National Constitution. This represents an important milestone both for Ecuador and the larger global Rights of Nature movement.
On September 27th-28th, 2018, the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN) with support of the Harmony with Nature Dialogue of the United Nations (SDG 12, target 12.8) and our local partners: CEDENMA, Fundación Pachamama, Acción Ecológica, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (UASB), Ruta de la Verdad, Fundación Tiam and Centro de Derechos Humanos de la PUCE, are co-organizing a three-day symposium of prominent international Rights of Nature leaders, academics, activists, lawyers, indigenous leaders and government officials.
This is a global symposium for thoughtful examination of the state of the Rights of Nature movement not only in Ecuador but around the world. This will be an unprecedented gathering of global leaders and multi-disciplined thinkers to exchange views, celebrate and advance the Rights of Nature movement.
Please, save the date and join us to support the Rights of Nature!
