Shrishtee is a researcher, writer, and activist with Kalpavriksh, an environmental action group in India. Her work explores how Indigenous, traditional, and customary systems of living and decision-making can inform modern governance to achieve true harmony with Nature.
Through her coordination of Vikalp Sangam (Alternatives Confluence) and her involvement in the Global Tapestry of Alternatives, Shrishtee connects communities and movements envisioning systemic transformations towards ecological justice and radical democracy. She also helped found the Rights of Rivers South Asia Alliance, a key initiative amplifying river protection efforts through a Rights of Nature lens.
Her efforts exemplify the deep interconnection between cultural identity, ecological well-being, and justice, advancing the Rights of Nature not as a concept, but as a lived philosophy.
