From March 6 to 14, we embarked on our Listening & Learning Delegation to Ecuador, a journey to explore Ecuador’s stunning biodiversity and to connect and learn from those who have been deeply rooted in living harmoniously with Nature for centuries. It was a space to learn about the progress on RoN that has been made in the country, but also to learn about the problems and challenges that many communities still face.
Spanning from Los Cedros to the Andean Chocó, including San José de Mashpi, Mindo, and Intillacta, we immersed ourselves in Nature, encountering the calls of howler monkeys and the serenity of rivers and waterfalls. Our journey also entailed engaging discussions with leaders dedicated to anti-mining efforts and environmental rights advocacy.
In San José de Puembo, we convened with legal experts specializing in Rights of Nature cases, with insightful contributions from community members.
