The International Rights of Nature Tribunal formed a Commission to visit Bolivia and to follow up on a case presented in the Tribunal in Bonn in 2017.
A highway is meant to be constructed right through the middle of an incredibly important and biodiverse place, the Territorio Indígena y Parque Nacional Isiboro-Secure (TIPNIS) or Indigenous Territory and Isiboro-Secure National Park.
Alberto Acosta, Fátima Monasterio, Shannon Biggs and Enrique Viale were part of the Commission who visited the TIPNIS area to gather information and see the situation up front and center. They are the authors of this article.
