In a world that is more and more influenced by climate change, youth is rising to reverse the direction that humanity is taking in regards to Mother Earth.
This article aims to introduce the youth to a powerful legal concept called ‘Right of Nature’. In order to seek climate justice, reverse capitalist perceptions of Nature and confront ecological crises, Rights of Nature can provide a practical tool to empower the youth.
About the author of the article: Jessica den Outer holds a Master degree in International Environmental Law. She is active as a Youth Ambassador for the Global Alliance of the Rights of Nature and was appointed as an expert on Earth-centered law by the United Nations Harmony with Nature Programme.
She aims to inspire people to a different perception of Nature by writing articles and lecturing on Rights of Nature around the world.’
