The Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN) will be bringing the Rights of Nature movement to the London Climate Action Week in United Kingdom, from 20-28 June, 2026.

London Climate Action Week harnesses the unique power of London for global and local climate action. It mobilizes London’s unparalleled ecosystem of climate and non-climate organizations to accelerate global climate action and supports action in London to ensure it acts as a global climate leader.

Join Lawyers for Nature, the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN) and Letters to the Earth and their friends during London Climate Action Week for Rights of Nature in Action: Field Notes and Stories from Around the World, a gathering exploring the global Rights of Nature movement through storytelling, dialogue, Indigenous leadership, environmental law, climate justice, ecosystems protection, and relational approaches to Nature. Featuring a Water Ceremony at Gasholder Park, St Pancras Basin and a panel event at The Stables, MYO King’s Cross, this London event brings together global advocates, climate leaders, policymakers, and communities advancing Rights of Nature frameworks for rivers, forests, oceans, bioregions, and living ecosystems across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Antarctica.   • 09 – 10:30 AM – GATC London Climate Week Opening Event: Hosted by the GATC & INUTW: Opening event of the London Climate Action Week, bringing together Indigenous Peoples, local communities, allies, and partners to celebrate the journey and collective achievements of the GATC. The event will include remarks from GATC leadership, reflections on the Alliance’s global advocacy process, and the screening of the trailer of a transformational global video highlighting the voices, struggles, and visions of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.   • 15.30 – 17.30 – Beyond Impact: Ten Years of Storytelling, Capacity and Change: For over 12 years, If Not Us Then Who? has supported Indigenous, local communities, and Afro-descendant communities through mentorship, residencies, and community-based training. Meet the global network of storytellers reshaping narratives from within their territories and bringing them to the global stage. During this dynamic and participatory conversation, we will also explore two new initiatives from If Not Us Then Who?: “A Day on Earth”, a global participatory feature documentary, and the opening of “Weaving the Heart Beyond the Map”, an immersive exhibition on Indigenous peoples in voluntary isolation, premiering at the Rights & Nature Hub. More information.

  • 15.30 – 17.30 – Women on the Frontline: Stories, Solutions and Solidarity: Two, thought-provoking conversations from leading Indigenous and Afro-Descendant women who are setting the agenda for our collective climate futures. They will be joined by Indigenous filmmakers and global allies in solidarity with frontline resistance and solutions to the global biodiversity and climate crises. This revolutionary gathering will transform your understanding of who is shaping climate discourse. Practical, pragmatic, and rooted in territory and solidarity- this is what happens when women lead. We will culminate the evening with live music and dancing, ensuring you leave connected and inspired to change the world. More information.
  • 18.00 – 21.00 – Cultural Night: Hosted by RAN, bringing together INUTW, Amazon Watch, and Yakumama for an evening of live music and artistic celebration. More information.

Wednesday, June 24

  • 09.00 – 10:30 AM – Weaving the Heart Beyond the Map: Indigenous Peoples Living in Voluntary Isolation: This event, designed to complement the exhibition featured at the Rights & Nature Hub, will premiere a powerful new documentary on the Ayoreo peoples inhabiting the Chaco, exploring the trauma of contact and the path to community healing. We will also feature a groundbreaking health system for isolated peoples in Peru and highlight “The Corridors” (the Amazon Borderlands Territorial Corridors), a massive Indigenous-led initiative to protect 25 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest in Peru and Brazil to safeguard the PIACI. This event brings together a collective of organizations, INUTW, Quipa Collective, Iniciativa Amotocodie, Rainforest Foundation International, and Earth Sight, on issues of Indigenous Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact (PIACI).
