GARN Indigenous Council Gathering at Climate Week NYC
GARN Indigenous Council leadership will discuss how the Rights of Nature intersects with traditional knowledge and Indigenous sovereignty. The Indigenous Council is a space for GARN’s wisdom keepers through which the Alliance seeks to be in permanent compliance with the principles of reciprocity with Nature, which is part of the Indigenous cosmovision.
This in-person gathering of the GARN Indigenous Council will allow the council to discuss the importance of their participation in international forums such as COP 29 in Azerbaijan and COP 16 in Cali. It is crucial to be all together on this path because only through active community participation we can achieve the real change that Indigenous peoples and our Mother Nature need.
The event will be on Tuesday, September 24th from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice, NYU Law, Seminar Room, 5th Floor, 139 MacDougal St, New York, NY 10012.
